Equity Research:
Equity research reports are detailed reports on a company by a financial analyst who is trained to analyze companies. Where do you find these? They are hard to come by for free. You either must pay for them, or you can access them through your brokerage account. I use Schwab, and have access to approximately 5 different equity research reports per company (depending on the size of the company). I recommend looking at these before making an investment.
Financial Statements:
Yearly reports (10-Ks), quarterly reports (10-Qs), and current reports (8-Ks) are usually available through a company's website, under an investors relations tab. You should be able to download them in PDF format for your own viewing, free of charge.
This is it for now. If you have questions regarding where to find something, please ask, and I will do my best to find it for you. I will populate this list as I expand my own knowledge base.
